Update
March 9, 2005
- Fenders—primed and block
sanded ready for install. These were good fenders, not much work required.
Most of the problems came while stored.
- Doors—Fixed the corner and
a few rust points to make them solid, primed and blocked out. Installed on
main body to insure alignment.
- Trunk—Removed the skin off
one trunk, married it to a better “frame”, and installed on the car
for alignment. I had two marginal trunks each with different concerns, made
one good one out of the two. This was quite a job but the finished product
is worth the effort. Nice metalwork. I could not tell that the finished
product was a made up trunk.
- Hood—Done. Minor repairs
in the right front area. Some minor rust was removed and replaced with good
metal. Now primed and blocked out.
- Passenger side Quarter panel—Old
skin was cut out and replacement panel, from a full quarter, was installed.
- Front floor Pan—Replaced
old repairs with a full floor section back to the rear seat, Welded in new
toe board and fitted the replacement section carefully to insure proper fit
to the rockers and front firewall.
- Drivers side Quarter panel—Taillight
section removed. Quarter marked out for installation of full section up to
just past wheel well. Lots of work to be done on this side.

Replacement panel aligned to roof
and door jamb. Door is installed. Replacement part took in the taillight housing
and part of the back panel.

Aligned quarter panel
and door section.

Driver's side taillight housing,
ready for the new part.

I have a replacement quarter panel
up to wheel well. Shop is working from taillight housing forward for alignment
reasons.
Both fenders and hood are completed and
ready to go.
